Tomato Basil Mozzarella Melt


Fresh basil and pesto lend distinctive, delicious flavor to this sandwich recipe featuring tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and Sister Schubert’s® Dinner Yeast Rolls.

Directions
Step 1:

Preheat oven to 350°F. Arrange Sister Schubert’s® Dinner Yeast Rolls on baking sheet and prepare according to package directions. Remove from oven and let cool to room temperature.

Step 2:

Once cool enough to handle, slice rolls in half. Spread pesto on bottom half of each roll.

Step 3:

Place slices of tomato on top of pesto on roll. Top tomatoes with mozzarella and sprinkle with salt and pepper, to taste. Cover with top half of roll.

Step 4:

Arrange sandwiches on baking sheet and cover with aluminum foil. Bake sandwiches 5-7 minutes, until cheese has melted.

Step 5:

Remove sandwiches from oven. Open sandwich and add 1-2 basil leaves over mozzarella. Serve warm.
