Directions

Position oven rack one level above middle position. Preheat oven to broil. Arrange Sister Schubert’s® Dinner Yeast Rolls, cut side up, on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Top each roll with a little sauce. Layer each roll with turkey, tomato slices and a sprinkling of black pepper. Spoon remaining cheese sauce over each roll. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.

Watching entire time, broil 2 to 3 minutes or until lightly browned. Top each with bacon slices and parsley. Serve.

Cheddar Cheese Sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon sherry, optional

In a small saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour; cook over low heat for 1 minute. Slowly add milk and continue to whisk until sauce thickens. Cook on low an additional 8 to 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove pan from heat and add remaining ingredients. Stir until all ingredients are incorporated. Return to heat, stirring for 2 minutes.
